Our aim is to offer support to vulnerable families with children
aged between 10-13 years in the following key areas:
Establishing
good working relationships between the Transitional Worker, Parents,
Child and School
Helping Parents and Children during the Transition from Primary to
Comprehensive School
Helping to raise the self-esteem of Pupils during their first year
of Comprehensive School so they will become more able to cope with
difficult situations
Supporting the Parent’s literacy and numeracy skills so they in
turn can support their child’s curriculum needs at home
Assist with behaviour management
Support Children who are experiencing bullying
Assisting with the development of communication between School and
Parents
Encouraging Parents to attend Parent Meetings
Referring Parents/Families to the appropriate agencies if the need
arises
